About us
So you want to know more about us. I don't blame you – we're an incredibly interesting bunch of people. (Those looking for actual information about Make Votes Count should go here instead.)
Former chief contributor Paul Davies recently graduated from one of the world's most prestigious universities with a degree in watching MTV and playing football. He is thus woefully equipped to comment on anything. Paul's foolish taste for common sense and common decency lead him to see very little good in government of any form, and by any party. Such an outlook is very dangerous, especially with regard to the holder's mental health. Thus Paul takes care not to give a crap about any of it that much, preferring derision to anger. He ran away to Rio in October 2006 and hasn't been seen since.
Lewis Baston is a much more professional human being, and knows more than anyone else on the planet about British elections, past and present. He speaks in facts, thus to disagree with him is to be wrong. His specialist subjects include bamboozlingly dull topics such as the workings of the electoral commission and the exact catchment area of every constituency boundary.
Malcolm Clark is the Make Votes Count Co-ordinator and loyal Labour comrade. Like most people of that ilk, he spends his time being angry at Margaret Thatcher and wondering why we all just can't get along. He caught the 'political bug' following complications during childbirth, and has never come anywhere close to recovering. More disturbingly, he doesn't seem to mind.
MMVC Towers is also second twelfth home of the criminally underused Lord Lipsey, who spends too much time scrutinising our laws and not enough time engaged in making idle Internet chit-chat.
Nina Temple also used to write here, in her role as Director. Sadly, owing to an almost complete lack of funds, and thus an inability to pay her adequately, she has had to move on.
