Germany resolved

From the Indy

Merkel is the Chancellor, Schroder's gang have a couple more seats in the Cabinet. Seems fair enough for now. They'll need consensus on the main policy issues, which is what the people voted for, and which is more likely, one assumes, to bring about decent, well thought-out reform. I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I can't personally see them coming up with anything as anti-democratic as NuLab, as ill-worked out as the Brian Haw law or as downright dumb as the religious hatred thingy. Grown-up politics - where's the fun in that?
