Random Labour MP on AV

The MVC office is currently being taken apart and moved further towards heaven. This process has uncovered all sorts of things that have been thrown into filing cabinets over the last decade. One of these turned up this gem of a quote from a random Labour MP (private letter so I don't know if I'm allowed to attribute it) on AV.

"Alternative Vote is a silly distraction... and the elective equivalent of a peck on the cheek at an orgy. It has nothing to do with our intention to make the system fairer and open up politics, and an easy way out for the half baked."
