David Cameron's FPTP argument
From The Times
Asked whether proportional representation might not bring about a more effective form of democracy in Britain, Mr Cameron defended the representational strength of the first-past-the-post system with its direct connection to a locally elected and accountable Member of Parliament.
It's become his staple defence of FPTP. He seems quite keen on it, and because there are plenty of points to be made against it, it seems only fair, for David as well as everyone who has to hear him trot it out all the time, to let him know. I feel another letter coming on.
UPDATE: And here it is.
