Talking with Tatchell electoral reform special
The programme went out at 8.30pm on Friday 14 September. Outline of the programme below. You can watch it for free online anytime by clicking here
Britain's corrupt voting system (14/09/2007)
The electoral system is rigged against democracy. Millions of votes don't count. Peter Tatchell interviews Chris Huhne MP and Mary Southcott of Make Votes Count.
In 2005, Labour won 35% of the vote but 55% of the seats. It took 27,000 votes to elect a Labour MP, 44,000 to elect a Tory MP and 96,000 votes to elect a Lib Dem MP. To remedy this political corruption, we need a new, democratic voting system.
