Continuing our antipodean theme of the past few months, here's an event you might be interested in:

MMP and the Constitution: 15 years past; 15 years forward

Free entry; booking required.

This is a symposium which will consider New Zealand’s adoption of Mixed Member Proportional voting and its political and constitutional system. The event will be a live video conference involving delegates at Victoria University of Wellington.

Morning session 7.30am - 11.00am, evening session 8.00pm - 11.30pm.

We could forget about needing a second chamber if we had this (as long as we had a decent supreme court). Why would you want 2 chambers elected by PR?
